Tank Vest

yesterday, i was watching my little sisters and they were watching shake it up(a tv show) and one of them was wearing a crazy cute vest and i was so jealous i made it(yes, i was seriously inspired by a vest on a kids television show) inspiration is everywhere. . .
use a super large tee that can barely fit on your kitchen counter that i paid like 2 bucks at goodwill.
place on top of huge tee a regular tank top so that the necks of both line up.
trace from top of arm hole of the tank to bottom of the arm hole of the tee with chalk. cut on line.
looks pretty wierd, right?
i cut the ribbed-neck of the original tee t make it scoop necked.
fold in half and cut bottom at an angle, however steep you want it.
i then had my sisters each take picture of me wearing it. here's one kate took
and emma's. i love you guys.

Homemade Larabars

ever feel like everything that's healthy is either REALLY gross or SUPER expensive? well, i fell in love with a cookie bar that is soooooo good. larabars. heaven in a bar and i could eat like 12 at a time and not feel even a ounce of guilt. but, they cost over a dollar per. bar, so i made them. i made the cinnamon roll one because, who doesn't like cinnamon rolls. no one. note- all measurements have been changed over time to find perfect recipe. that's why they're so wonky.
original can be bought here

ingredients
2 1/4 cup dates
1 1/2 cup peanuts
3/8 cup almonds
1 tbsp. cinnamon
1 tbsp. vanilla
3 tbsp. water
put all ingredients in a food processor and mix until it has the desired consistency.
i blended mine until really creamy and added a teensy bit more water than called for.
put it all in a pan. a small pan for thicker bars, bigger pan for thinner bars.
press evenly into pan and chill in fridge to make it easier to cut. cut into bars and eat. i ate before i could take a picture of them, though.

Shorts Refashion

so, i had these super awkward-legnthed (that's a word... right?) shorts that i got for free from my friend's friend's friend. i didn't want to give them away because i'm just greedy like that, and i knew i could do something to them. here's what i did. . .

(not exactly ugly. . . just awkward.)
take awkward shorts and get a pair of cute, normal shorts, fold both in half legnthwise, and lay shorter one on top of the longer one, and line up the sides.
cut long shorts about an inch longer than the shorter shorts, if you want the hem folded up. if you want a cleaner look, cut a quarter inch longer and hem. fold up and iron in place.
it should probably look like this. probably.
cut a series of slits where you want the rips to be, and run the pointey side of a seam ripper along back side of the flaps, until you can see white threads start to come out.
pull out blue threads of the flaps between the slits with tweezers(aren't mine cute?) until you see a horizontal square of white threads.
soon it will look like this.
and after a while, . . . this.
take a break and do your little sisters hair really crazy if she asks you too (like mine did), add a few more rips wherever you want and then put them on because they look awesome.

You should know that I like to take pictures. A lot. most are blurry or akward, but there are a few that are decent.  This is my ADORable lil' bro and my two AWEsome sisters.
