DIY Popcorn Seasonings

First, mom mom started listening to Christmas music this week. for most people christmas music signals christmas, for me it signals about the half-way mark till christmas.
second, well, i like Popcorn, just not plain popcorn.
It's just so bleh.
oh, and i'm in LOVE with the popcorn seasonings that you buy at the store, but they can be pricey.
but they are gradually getting more and more creative with their flavors. Like cajun, apple cinnamon, pizza, bacon cheddar, and chocolate marshmallow(don't know how i feel about the last two or three flavors).
so for each flavor you obviously make the popcorn and either butter it or spray it with oil so that the seasoning sticks. oh, and all recipes can be changed for your taste buds, but i cannot vouch for how it will taste.
mexican hot chocolate: sweet with chocolate and cinnamon
heaping tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon of powdered sugar
1 scant tablespoon of cocoa
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
mix.
barbecue: inspired by the sauce. . .
heaping tablespoon brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon chili powder
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon garlic
1/8 teaspoon paprika
mix.
italian mix: herby and looks like a mini salad
1tablespoon dried parsley
1 teaspoon dried basil
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon pepper
mix.
oh and this is good with parmesan sprinkled on too.
gingerbread: christmas in july?
2 scant tablespoons brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
pinch of salt
mix.
then google "tilt" funny until you can't figure out how to untilt. you'd think to just google untilt, huh. well i couldn't figure that out.
so i googled it.
xoxo,
gracie

  3. Hi there! What do you mean by a scant of cocoa? I thought that word was usually paired with a unit of measure (teaspoon, tablespoon, cup, etc.)...

  5. This is a blessing, my son is getting married and we are making cones filled with popcorn for in the kids bags. I wanted to add some paper straws with "flavorings" to it. Thank you so much
